Christmas cards

In case anyone is wondering, I’m not sending any Christmas cards this year. After discussing the matter with a friend recently, I decided it would be much better to take the money I would have spent on cards and stamps, and donate it to charity instead. So I hope you aren’t offended by not receiving a card.

Not offended at all, in fact I'm glad that you did this - nice work.

I am biased because I have a personal loathing of Christmas cards - I hate writing them and find that when people send me a card I feel obliged to write back just because I feel guilty.

Another thing about Christmas cards is that, when you have lots of them to do, you can never dedicate enough time to each one to compose a personal message for each recipient, so you end up writing some boring generic message to everyone.
